First off, I've not actually visited blogger.com in so long that I have no idea when all of these crazy layout changes happened. All of the blogs I follow I have coming to my RSS feed, and I haven't posted in a while, so I'm lost. Weird.
I woke up this morning with a strange realization. I'm now officially a housewife/stay-at-home mom. I'd been doing little odds and ends on the set for Arabian Nights for the last few weeks, but I finished the last of them yesterday. This means that I am officially jobless and schoolles for the next three and a half months. After waking up to make my husband breakfast before he ran off to work early, we sat to eat our pancakes and I unconsciously said "I think I'm gonna clean the oven today. It looks terrible."
He just looked at me and said, "You seem to be settling into your role of housewife comfortably." I was a little embarrassed. The fact that I had little else to talk about than cleaning the oven really got to me. I've never been like this before. I usually have so much to get done that cleaning, while it usually DOES get done, is never the thing on the top of my mind. It was a weird shift for me.
Beyond cleaning the oven, here are some of my projects for the summer:
1. Have a baby. As close to June 13 as possible.
2. Make a train set for the baby.
3. Make a rattle for the baby.
4. Make a 포대기 (pronounced podaegi--it's a Korean baby-carrying blanket...click the link to see a blog about it)...the trick is I'm going to make mine double function as a Hooter Hider (a nursing cover---glorified blanket that you use for modesty's sake when nursing). They are so similar of products (basically a blanket with straps) that I figure there's no reason to have to carry both around...just make the corset boning for the nursing cover removable.
I've finished the crib and successfully made one set of sheets (why is that plural...it's not like you use a top sheet for babies) for it. We made room in our little living room for the baby and we're feeling pretty good about our space. That is until I get a pile of things from the baby shower. I had a hard time fitting the things from my bridal shower in our apartment, let alone the wedding and now a baby shower. Fortunate for us we're moving in August. Just gonna be a tight summer :).
Hopefully I get better at taking pictures of projects as they progress and I can start being a real blogger complete with pictures. I have to go dust off my camera (and probably charge the batteries!).

Uh-Em...
That was a bit of an embarrassing absence.
I love married life. I thought I was perfectly and incandescently happy when we first got married, but that time period pales in comparison to how I feel now. I'm happier everyday.
We're expecting a little one coming (around) 13 June. We are so excited! What makes it even more exciting is that my sister, Chalene, is due the very same day...which means we'll have twin(ish) cousins!! I'm so jealous of them. None of my cousins are even close to my age!
I'm going to make a cradle for the baby. I'm really excited about it. The best part is that I got it approved to be a self-directed class, so I'll be able to get credit toward graduation for making it. It's gonna be the best!!
We'll be looking to move when our contract runs out in April. I know that when you search for Single's housing around BYU, the time to do it is late January, early February (crazy, huh?). But I can't help but feel that married students aren't near so concerned about it! But I'm nesting dang it...I'm concerned about it!
All-in-all things are going well and I'm excited for the coming semester. It should be good.
